Sometimes the most inspiring projects aren’t just about craft or profit - they’re about community and purpose. For me, that project is Common Threads, my wife Elisabeth’s passion-driven clothing brand.

When we traveled through Scotland, we spent hours talking about what drives her vision. And it hit me hard: this isn’t a business for the sake of business. It’s about using fashion to connect, include, and give back.

Building Community, One Thread at a Time

From the start, Common Threads has been about impact before income. Its first foray into the world was supporting the Monroe Pride Flag Raising.

Elisabeth didn’t just design a shirt for the celebration she donated every penny of the proceeds to the foundation the event organizer recommended. This month, she’s sponsoring a community event spotlighting local police heroes, showing that Common Threads is about all people and the communities we share.

But it’s not just about events. Elisabeth works tirelessly testing samples to make sure every piece meets her standard for comfort and quality. Her customer service is next level, too she meets folks where they are, solving problems customers didn’t even know they had.

Family Threads

The ripple effect in our family has been incredible. My son quickly jumped in, dreaming up a line of athletic clothing designed not only for performance but also to carry a message:

“The gym is a safe space for everyone.”

Even I’ve gotten involved, working on a shop shirt that’s comfortable for all-day wear but tough enough to survive my leatherworking bench. It’s a tall order, but that’s the fun of chasing something meaningful together.

Heart Over Hype

What moves me most about Common Threads is that it’s fashion with a soul. It’s inclusive, it’s ethical, and it’s built on the belief that what we wear can reflect who we are and what we stand for.

Watching Elisabeth pour herself into this mission inspires me to approach my own leatherwork with the same intention and heart. This isn’t just about making things it’s about making a difference.

 Join the Movement

Every follow, like, and share helps amplify a brand built on heart, inclusion, and community impact. This isn’t just fashion it’s a movement that stitches people together, one thread at a time.
